Imperial Jasper designer earring cabs
SKU: cear_1004
Gemologists have categorized 5 different jaspers to be the Top Fine Jaspers of the World. Those 5
jaspers are Bruneau, Willow
Creek, Blue Mountain, all of the Imperial Jaspers, and Morrisonite. Most of these
five are also porcelain jaspers which means the final polish is as
bright and glossy as fine china would be after it has been fired.
While the Imperial Jaspers come from varied locales, a great majority of
them come from Mexico. The Royal
Imperials may be found at the Mosquital Mine in Jalisco, Mexico. The Red Imperials may be found in Sonora and
Guadalajara and the Green Imperials come from many Mexican locales.
The color hues of all the Imperial Jaspers can range from the palest
hue to the deeper, more intense coloring. Some of the matrix will have
designs, while others will have only color without pattern, and many will
have a full color range within the same stone...from light to dark and back again.
No matter what the stones present in color or pattern, the one thing that
ties ALL the Imperials together is that FANTASTIC FINAL POLISH.
Often the photos will actually have an image of the camera itself reflected
back onto the stone...a 'melted glass' finish will reflect everything
around it...lights, camera etc. and the stones are usually more
beautiful in person than in the photos.
When holding an Imperial Jasper cabochon in your hand, it is not difficult to
see why they are considered a FINE Porcelain Jasper.

These lovely Imperial
Jasper cabochons have been butterfly cut for a beautiful set of matching
designer earrings.
David has cut these in a
wonderful designer shape and they are thin enough so they will not be too heavy
after they are wrapped or bezel set.
If you don't want to
make a pair of earrings then this would be a perfect time to get "two for
the price of one" with these lovely pastel colored Imperial Jasper stones.
All
of our cabs are polished on the back unless otherwise stated above.
