We will be offering quite a few of our special
rings with the "reticulated ring bands" and wanted to explain how
these custom bands are made. They are very quickly becoming one of the
most favorite jewelry items that David makes.
First, each band is hand cut from heavy 18ga.
sterling silver in a random shape. It is then sprinkled with sterling
silver or slivers of 14k gold, (possibly both) and then the entire band
is reticulated. During that process, with the intense heat, the slivers
become fused to the band.
The bands are then put into the pickling acid to
be cleaned. After the cleaning, they are buffed and formed into a ring
shape. The heads for the stones, either sterling or 14k gold, will be
soldered to the band and when the stones are set the ring is completed.
Because of the process used, each ring is an
absolute "one-of-a-kind" item that is impossible to duplicate and
is a beautiful and unique piece of hand ornamentation. This process
also makes it impossible to cleanly and invisibly size the ring.
However, with wearing rings on various fingers being quite fashionable, we
are sure the ring of your choice will look wonderful on any finger you
choose.
