Individually and together, we have been in the gemstone/jewelry business for over 20 years and our mission is the same now as it has always been...to provide the very BEST product possible. Every item you see on our site has been made by us.....with joy, pride and purpose.
The "joy" for David comes from having the privilege of being the first person in the world to see the inside of the rock that he will be cutting into a cabochon. He is a self-taught and now seasoned, professional lapidary and he is a total snob regarding gemstone material. He absolutely refuses to cut cabochons out of anything less than AAA rough material. So, the cabochons offered here to you, the designers of fine jewelry, are the same quality we use in our own custom pieces.
The "pride" for both of us comes from using the best materials available to complete our creative endeavors (please see our 'Materials' list).
The "purpose" regarding our cabochons is to present contemporary shapes and styling, in unusual and varied materials, so the designer can get those creative juices flowing and make their special "one-of-a-kind" piece their customers cannot live without.....which brings us right back to the purpose of our own jewelry....to create that same "one-of-a-kind" piece OUR customers cannot live without. If there is anything that can be said about our jewelry, one thing is for certain....you will not find it 'on the rack' so to speak of a regular brand-name jewelry store and you will not see it walking down the street toward you.....each and every piece is different than the one created before it or the one that will come after.
Internet sales have skyrocketed in the last few years mainly due to the convenience of shopping at home and also the highly competitive pricing in all areas of retail sales. When the item being purchased is an electronic device, a computer element or a simple coffee pot, the only decision the buyer has to make is which manufacturer, the final price point, and the warrantee. Those decisions are greatly helped along by the photograph/illustration of the item that is supplied by the manufacturer of the product.
However, with small items such as gemstone cabochons or a piece of jewelry, the only thing a consumer has to help them form an intelligent decision is a photograph. In our case, a photo taken by a non-professional photographer and creator of the item, US.
Photographing gemstones and jewelry can be a frustrating process as we always wish to present our product in its best light....we want you to see the "real" item you will receive.....when you are holding one of our cabs or a piece of jewelry in your hand we want you to say, "wow, this looks ten times better than the photo".....so, sometimes in the body of the description of the item, you will see such statements as: 'this cab is a bit darker than the photo shows'....or 'this Tanzanite has a little more purple than the blue in the photo'...or 'the reticulated silver tends to be darker than regular sterling' etc...
That is why we ask you...PLEASE email us with ANY questions you may have....any at all. The expression "customer satisfaction" is not new and was not coined by us, but that is what we desire...."complete customer satisfaction".
If we have only one goal, it is to share our love and amazement of the uniqueness, beauty, colors and patterns found in the gemstones of our earth....and to share our excitement of the possibilities of using them in creative ways.
